Our single-phase 32A Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable will provide the NIO ET5 with the maximum current allowed by its onboard charger. You can use this versatile charging cable with home wall chargers and public charging points, provided they have a Type 2 socket. This includes charging points commonly found at retail parks, supermarkets, and on the street.
Whether this cable is connected to a 3 Phase or 1 Phase charging point is inconsequential, as the charging infrastructure intelligently determines the suitable current for both your vehicle’s Onboard charger and the cable’s capacity. Consequently, this cable is compatible with ALL Type 2 charging points with an open socket.
This cable is not an extension cable. You will therefore not be able to use it to connect the Type 2 male plug to the Type 2 female plug of an EV cable or charger. It is therefore not suitable for charging points with a lead already attached. Or, as an extension for a 3 pin charger or any other charging cable. You can only insert the plug directly into the socket of a Type 2 charging point.

Choosing The Correct Charging Cable
Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables adhere to the IEC 62196-2 standard. This ensures compatibility with Type 2 socket charging points and any Type 2 socket-equipped vehicle, such as the NIO ET5.
The vehicle and charging point will communicate with each other to ensure they deliver the precise amount of current to the vehicle. Therefore, it does not matter if a charging cable can supply more power than the vehicle can accept.
This cable is therefore suitable for charging the Type 2 socket of the NIO ET5. Please note that the manufacturer of this vehicle did not manufacture this charging cable.
Most electric vehicles sold in Europe come with a Type 2 socket, which may have either a 7 hole charging socket or a 9 hole CCS socket. CCS (Combined Charging Socket), accommodates the Type 2 cable in its 7 hole upper chamber.
Choice Of Cable Bags
We provide a free canvas cable bag (suitable for cables up to 10M) to store this charger when not in use. You can also upgrade the bag to a cable case made from EVA material for enhanced waterproofing and impact protection. The EVA case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top. So it allows convenient storage of two cables. The EVA case can therefore carry 2 cables if each cable does not exceed 10 metres length (20M total length). You can replace the canvas bag with an EVA case by selecting the option in the basket or checkout page.
